In the Construction Management process, the construction management firm is hired soon after the architect is hired and gives cost opinions throughout the design and planning process.

Every time an architect reaches a milestone in the plans, the construction manager gives an idea of cost as well as issues related to construction for the owner to consider. The process is a cycle that then goes back to the architect for further refinement with feedback from the construction manager given at every step so the owner can pick and choose options to get the best value. The owner then also understands what the individual cost components are and can weigh whether they are worth the cost.

Essential to this process is Building Information Modeling Building (BIM), which goes beyond 3D information modeling to include time and cost. It allows us to simulate and analyze the construction process in advance with every subcontractor adding information so we can improve work flow and safety.
