Project Description: When the winningest team in men’s college basketball history needed new locker rooms, Congleton-Hacker was chosen to ensure a quality that reflects that basketball tradition. The old locker rooms were replaced with state-of-the-art, NBA-style accommodations. In addition to a new players’ dressing room, the space was expanded to include a dining area, lounge, a hydrotherapy room and new coaches’ offices. The floor from the 2012 Final Four at the Superdome, where UK won its record eighth championship, serves as the new locker room floor. Coach John Calipari called the entire complex “the gold standard.”
Firm Role: As construction manager at risk, Congleton-Hacker provided preconstruction services, including master project phasing, critical path scheduling, conceptual estimating, value engineering, bid package definition and special conditions preparation. Our construction phase services included overall responsibility for all aspects of project schedule, bidding, construction, coordination of all trade contractors and management of master construction budget.
