Ky One Health, SJH Bed Tower Addition

St. Joseph Hospital (KentuckyOne Health)

Project Description: This project involved the construction of a 93,000 square-foot, six-story addition to a fully functioning hospital near downtown and the university campus. The work was fast-tracked into logical construction sequences with corresponding design releases and bid packages.

In addition to a new laboratory, hyperbaric and administrative departments, more than 26,000 square feet of mechanical/electrical space was created for new boilers, chillers, primary switchgear, standby generators, fire pumps and de-ionized water systems that serve the entire hospital.

We understand the complexities of completing construction in a fully functioning hospital and working with high-tech equipment. In addition, all of our project managers, project engineers and project superintendents have obtained KSHE Infection Control training.
Firm Role: As construction manager at risk, Congleton-Hacker provided preconstruction services, including conceptual estimating, GMP estimating, constructability analysis, value engineering, fast-track development, critical path scheduling, bid package definition and management of owner-purchased materials for sales tax savings. Our construction phase services included total responsibility for schedule, cost and project management.
